Plant Progress

My camera recently experienced a rather anti-climactic death after taking some garden photos...so here is a long awaited update assisted by the help of a borrowed camera. As you can see...the garden has made incredible progress in the last month and I can't wait to get some of the sprouts in the ground so they can keep growing! It's looking like we will return to the gorge within a couple weeks to a huge garden plot so the plants will only have to hold out in their little starter plots for a while longer.

In other news...I have finished my first year of graduate school. It is a bizarre feeling but a good one. I can't believe I am half way done. I have a great summer ahead, with a best friend's wedding, a trip to see family, an internship in the Gorge conducting a community food assessment, and lots of time to work in my own garden and hopefully have a happy harvest! Enjoy the new pics!

Basil: looking fuller, but still not 100%...not sure if I will ever be an epic basil farmer.

Mint: filling out its pot...it's going to be Mojito time soon!

Tomato in its cage with some bean pole babies on the bottom right.

Bean pole; up close and personal...these little guys need to get in the ground soon!

Oregon Spring Tomato...looking amazing and already has 4 or 5 fruits on it!

Tomato with some of the spring lettuce I have been munching on for the last several weeks.

Butternut, Delicata, and Watermelon greeting the day with a green hello!

60 starts in the varieties of cucumber, eggplant, broccoli, chard, and cantaloupe...they are so cute!

Cherry tomatoes getting bigger by the day!

Another cherry tomato with some younger siblings in the background.
